		<description>It does make me wonder what the alternative scenario would be.  If the spectrum were given away for free, would prices have been any cheaper for the consumer or would it have just meant even fatter profits for the mobile operators?

The bottom line for me is that there needs to be more real competition in the mobile sector.  Opening up more spectrum opens the door for more competition.  If spectrum auctions are lucrative for government, perhaps that is good incentive for government to do the right thing.</description>

		<description>I think the big 3G sell off was not good for the consumer - the £20billion price tag was pushed onto the consumer. Yes the government got the money, but is the government the best entity to have the people's money? I don't believe so.</description>
