Hi Steve,
Sound volume is veeeeery low. I had to turn volume up about 3x times of my usual volume to hear anything.
And it doesn’t look like a problem on my side, as at TED.com audio volume is ok.

Steve, I am very excited to come across your project. I am heading to Mozambique at the end of August as a missionary. I hope to get a hold of the device before I leave the US. Do you know when the final production will be out, and the possible cost of this? Thanks for pulling all of the great minds together to launch this project. I am so happy to see what this device can accomplish in very challenging environment, and directly impact the lives of the people I will serve.

Hi Giang. Many thanks for your words of support! We should have devices commercially available before the end of July. I don’t know the final retail price of the Mesh Potatoes yet except to say that they will less than or equal to the current cost of the beta units (USD95). Feel free to contact me in early July for more concrete information or stay tuned to the village telco google group.
