So what might the undersea cable environment for sub-Saharan Africa look like by the end of 2010? Perhaps it will look a bit like this:
If anyone has a proposed map for Uhurunet and Main One, I would love to know about it.
You can download a version in SVG format so that you can edit the map yourself. Right click on the link and choose Save As otherwise your clever browser may try to render the image.

Dear Steve,
Thanks for the map, i think it is a very good depiction. One thing i would add for SEACOM is the option to go to London as we are offering customers a bundled solution all the way to the London Telehouse.
Kind Regards,
Brian
Hi Brian,
Thanks for that. Duly updated.

Edited again to reflect actual Seacom bandwidth north of Mombasa.
Dear Steve,
Great map, I love it. Have you heard any information concerning the Glo-1 (or Glo One) cable by Nigerian operator Globacom. It is supposedly built from London to Dakar and planned to reach Ghana by May 09, Nigeria a bit later. Another white elephant?
No, it looks to me like Glo-1 is happening. According to Russell Southwood:
And here is an article about Glo-1 in today’s edition of the Nigerian newspaper Punch. http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art200807230515518
I’ll find out more and add it in. Cheers… Steve
